The project consisted of utilizing 190m2 for the offices, which were to include a public reception area, archival premises, a cafeteria, as well as premises for the strong-lock. The site that was chosen is easily flooded, thus binding us to raise the building 80cm, and consequently to erect a staircase, and a ramp for the physically disabled, for access to the reception area.
To remain within the same category of materials used by the newly built neighboring cultural complex, but also as a response to cost issues, we proposed utilizing the CIBBAP principle of metal construction, according to which 40 cm wide “U” shaped sections function equally for the cladding as for the bearing structure.
The result is a building of very homogenous appearance that, thanks to its base built set back, seems to float above the field.
