EDF envisions the construction of two new establishments: a Center for Research and Development and a Training Center for EDF employees. The two projects will be located in the “Palaiseau” zone in the south of the Plateau, near the Polytechnic School. The building was designed to take maximum advantage of the meteorological conditions of the site. Its glass facades of high thermal performance allow it to soak up solar energy in winter with the aim of reducing energy heating needs, while guaranteeing optimal visual comfort by its users. Thermal comfort is ensured no matter the season, first priority being given to passive heating and cooling solutions such as efficient thermal insulation of the building’s envelope, nighttime natural ventilation of the premises, and adiabatic cooling of the atriums in summer.
